A useful fit for

A supervised, dry indoor floor plan when three selectable heat levels, Auto Eco's documented Low stage, base oscillation, a 12-hour auto-off countdown and remote beep muting matter. The page lists an overall 900–1,500 W range but does not allocate wattage by level.

The main tradeoff

The CT30300 is 29.87 inches high and only eight inches wide/deep, but still requires 36 inches in front and 12 inches at each side and rear. Its exact sources document horizontal base oscillation without a degree angle, no fan-only function, no app, no named Night Mode and no adjustable tilt. Page weight (5.8 lb) conflicts with the native record (4,536 g), so weight is unknown. Lasko's 300-sq-ft coverage and cool-touch descriptions are not independent measurements. Its 12-hour off countdown does not permit unattended use; follow the direct-wall-outlet and dry-room limits.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you need a twelve-hour shutoff timer, or a timer that starts later?

The CT30300 manual documents a maximum 12-hour auto-off countdown. It does not document a delayed start, and it warns against unattended operation.

Explore this need in the finder →
Would an automatically selected lower heat stage matter?

In Auto Eco, the exact CT30300 instructions describe High below the set point, Low once the sensed room reaches it, then off above the stated margin. This is different from its three manually selected levels.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is a third selectable heat level essential?

The manual lists High, Medium and Low. Auto Eco behavior is automatic thermostat operation rather than a fourth manual selection.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you want remote control over button beeps?

The exact manual lists a Beep Mute mode using the remote. It separately lists a remote Display Snooze control; neither is identified as a named Night Mode.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you need horizontal movement, or a particular numeric sweep angle?

The manual shows the base oscillating side to side, but does not name an angle. The CT30300 can meet a documented horizontal-oscillation need, not a strict numeric minimum.

Explore this need in the finder →
Will the body fit a height limit of 30 inches?

Lasko specifies a 29.87-inch body. Height is the heater measurement only; it does not include the manual's front, side or rear clearances.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is a measured 90-degree or larger sweep a hard requirement?

The source states base oscillation but gives no numeric degree arc. Leave that specification unknown and compare an exact manual that publishes a number.

The black Lasko CT30300 is a tall ceramic tower with three selectable heat levels, base oscillation, an included remote and a 12-hour shutoff countdown. Its meaningful distinction from the similar-looking 5586 is not just the extra inch: the CT30300 adds a third manual heat setting, a longer timer, tip-over cutoff and remote display/beep controls. Neither countdown permits unattended use.

One exact model, one Black SKU

Lasko’s current U.S. product page identifies the heater as model CT30300 and offers a single Black variant, SKU CT30300 (native product 9596232433941, variant 50170921910549). The exact linked eight-page bilingual manual names CT30300 on its cover. The archived October 23, 2026 store snapshot marked this SKU available; that is a dated observation, not a promise about later stock.

Lasko calls it a 30-inch tower; its specification page lists a 29.87-inch-high body, eight inches wide and eight inches deep. That is a narrow floor footprint, not the total space required in use. The same page lists 5.8 pounds, while the native variant record gives 4,536 grams. Those records conflict, so weight remains unconfirmed for any lifting or carrying decision. Lasko lists 120 volts and an overall 900-to-1,500-watt output range, but does not assign a wattage to each heat level. Its “up to 300 square feet” coverage is a manufacturer claim, not a room test or a guarantee for a particular home.

Three manual heat levels and an automatic lower stage

The exact manual identifies High, Medium and Low as selectable heater settings. Auto Eco is a separate automatic thermostat behavior: when the sensed room temperature is below the selected set point, the element runs on High; at the set point it changes to Low, continues until the reading is two degrees Fahrenheit above the set point, then turns off. Its fan runs for another 15 seconds after the element stops. This genuine automatic lower stage is useful if you want more than a thermostat that repeatedly controls only High, but it is not a third additional manual mode or a user-selectable fan-only function. The page does not provide a separate wattage for Low or Medium, and the manual does not establish room-temperature accuracy.

Do not confuse the brief fan run-on with a fan setting that circulates unheated air. The heat-mode button cycles only High, Medium and Low. If fan-only operation is essential, choose a separately documented fan/heater model rather than inferring it from the internal fan.

A longer timer, plus bedroom-oriented remote controls

The timer can be set to switch the heater off after up to 12 hours. The instructions still warn against unattended operation: a timer is a limit on a supervised session, not permission to leave a portable heater running in an empty room. It is not a delayed-start schedule. The included physical remote uses two AAA batteries, which are not supplied. The manual gives that remote a Display Snooze button that turns the display on or off and a Beep Mute control for button-selection sounds. The screen also dims automatically after ten seconds. These are useful distinctions if light or control beeps matter, but the exact sources do not call the function a named Night Mode or list phone-app compatibility.

The manual’s controls and assembly diagram show the base oscillating the tower side to side. Neither the product details nor the manual states a numeric arc, so the CT30300 should not satisfy a hard minimum-degree sweep request. Lasko’s “widespread” and whole-room language describes the manufacturer’s intended distribution, not a measured warm-air pattern. There is no adjustable tilt, and the exact pages do not document powered outlet louvers.

Place and maintain it by the manual, not by its slim outline

Assemble the two-piece support base before use and set the tower on a stable, flat floor. The instructions require a direct 120-volt wall receptacle; they prohibit extension cords, power strips, surge protectors, multi-outlet adapters and sharing the heater’s outlet or circuit with other devices. Keep combustibles at least three feet in front and one foot at the sides and rear. The manual excludes bathrooms, laundry areas, damp or wet locations, outdoor use and unattended operation. It also cautions against use in confined spaces around infants or people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities. These conditions can make a convenient corner unsuitable even when the body fits.

The manual documents both a tip-over switch and thermal-overload protection. If the overheat cutoff trips, unplug the heater, allow it to cool for ten minutes, then reconnect it to a 120-volt outlet and follow the reset steps. For upkeep, unplug it and vacuum the intake grilles with a brush attachment every two weeks; the instructions say not to disassemble the heater. Lasko lists ETL status and a three-year limited warranty. Those manufacturer statements do not replace supervision, clearance or electrical instructions.

Who should choose it—and what to compare

Shortlist the CT30300 for a supervised, dry indoor floor-heating routine when three selectable heat levels, an automatic Low stage, a 12-hour off countdown, a physical remote and button-beep muting are useful. Its 29.87-inch body may suit a narrow floor footprint, but use the manual clearances rather than measuring only the eight-inch width. Skip it if you need app control, a separately selectable fan-only mode, a confirmed numeric sweep angle, bathroom permission or unattended operation.

The Lasko 5586 is the closer alternative if a shorter eight-hour countdown and a two-setting, 29-inch tower are enough; its manual also documents Auto Eco changing to Low, but does not establish a tip-over switch. The CT24362 is worth comparing when a specifically documented 360-degree sweep matters more than having this model’s 12-hour timer and remote snooze/mute controls. For separate no-heat fan operation, consider the CC24810 and verify its remote package against the unresolved product-page/manual evidence. Read the CT30300 manual for the final placement and operating rules.
