Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can this Standard H3 sweep air across a documented side-to-side arc?
DREO lists a 70-degree oscillation and its exact model feature graphic shows a horizontal sweep; the manual documents the oscillation control but not its angle. No vertical movement is established.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the body fit under a 16-inch height limit?
DREO lists the Standard body at 15.8 inches high. This body measurement does not waive the manual's front or side/rear placement rules.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it move air without turning on heat?
Yes. The exact DR-HSH003 manual lists Fan Only separately from Power Heat and ECO; it does not give a number of Fan Only speed levels.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the timer turn the Standard H3 on later?
No delayed start is documented. The 0-12-hour timer counts down to shut off an already-running heater.
Explore this need in the finder →DREO’s U.S. listing calls this the Heater Solaris Slim H3; its Standard support page and U.S. manual identify the PTC fan-heater model DR-HSH003. The native U.S. product record has Gold, SKU 10-04003-103, and Silver, SKU 10-040031-001. The separate Silver H3 with an ALCI plug is not just another finish: it is a separate product record and model, DR-HSH003A. Check the model and plug on the listing before relying on any feature or manual.
A compact floor heater, not a tabletop appliance
DREO lists the Standard H3 at 5.9 by 5.9 inches across its base, 15.8 inches high and 4.63 pounds, with a six-foot cord. That makes it a relatively short, light tower for a floor position beside a desk or chair. It still needs an open, level floor spot; the small footprint does not make it safe on bedding, a shelf or a crowded bedside table. Its handle helps with moving a cool, unplugged heater, but a lightweight shell can still be knocked over.
The front display and top controls are easy to reach from the floor. In a short room, the 15.8-inch body may fit beneath a window ledge or shelf more readily than a tall tower, but the front must remain clear during operation. Measure the actual floor route and outlet position as well as the body. A product-height cap cannot waive the manual’s fire-clearance instructions.
Three heat steps, ECO and a separate fan mode
The DR-HSH003 manual rates the unit at 1,500 watts on a 120-volt, 60-hertz supply. It gives three Power Heat steps: H1 at 1,000 watts, H2 at 1,300 watts and H3 at 1,500 watts. ECO lets you select a target from 41°F to 95°F in one-degree increments; the heater cycles between low and high heat as the temperature difference changes. The setpoint is a control target, not a guarantee that the whole room will reach or hold that temperature.
Fan Only is a distinct mode, so the H3 can circulate air without heating. Neither the manual nor the control descriptions specify a count of selectable fan-only speeds. If you need multiple known fan speeds, do not treat its three heat levels as three fan speeds. The current listing shows horizontal oscillation across a 70-degree arc; the manual confirms a dedicated oscillation control. The heater can spread airflow across a nearby seating area, but this is not a two-axis moving head and the manual does not document hand-set vertical tilt.
Timer behavior and a documentation mismatch
The timer is an off countdown for a running heater, not a scheduled start. The manual describes a setting from zero through 12 hours; zero cancels the countdown. Separately, the 24-hour continuous-run shutoff is disabled by default and can be switched on from standby. The display turns off after a minute, and the unit remembers most prior settings after being switched off or unplugged. Those are practical controls for a room you are occupying, not a way to preheat an empty room before arrival. No phone app or delayed-start function is documented for this Standard model.
There are two unresolved product-page inconsistencies worth knowing. DREO’s feature bullets advertise 40 dB, while the same page’s specification table lists 37.5 dB; the manual provides no independent noise measurement, so neither number is a test result. The listing’s current battery field says CR2025, while the exact DR-HSH003 U.S. manual and its package diagram say AAA cells. A remote is included, but the manufacturer does not reconcile that revision difference. Check the remote supplied with the exact unit before replacing its battery.
Placement rules are part of the fit
The DR-HSH003 manual limits use to indoor household locations and says not to use the heater outdoors, in bathrooms, laundry areas or similar places. It calls for a stable, secure surface, unobstructed intake and outlet, and at least three feet between the front of the heater and combustible material; keep combustibles away from the sides and rear as well. The manual gives no numerical side or rear distance. Plug the heater directly into a wall receptacle, not an extension cord or relocatable power tap. Do not cover it, put it on a soft surface or route its cord where it can be trapped or tripped over. Its front becomes very hot.
Tip-over and overheat protections are useful safeguards, not permission to leave an operating heater unattended or to place it near curtains, bedding or children. To clean it, switch it off, unplug it and let it cool; use a soft, dry cloth on the housing and a dry cloth or cotton-tipped swab at the air inlet. Do not open the appliance, use cleaners or let water enter the unit. The manual lists a 12-month limited warranty.
Who should compare the Standard H3?
It is a reasonable model to compare if you want a small-footprint indoor floor heater with documented 70-degree horizontal movement, three heat steps, thermostat control, Fan Only, a remote and an automatic shutoff. It is a poor fit when bathroom approval, quiet performance at a verified level, a scheduled start, multiple fan-only speeds or a precise vertical aim is essential. The Standard H3 manual specifically excludes bathroom and laundry-area use.
Compare the ALCI H3 only if you specifically need its different plug configuration; the ALCI model has its own DR-HSH003A manual and its own safety limits. For a shorter body, DREO’s Ceramic Heater 319 is listed at 14.65 inches and also has a documented 70-degree horizontal sweep. If you need manual vertical aiming rather than powered side-to-side motion, the Heater 320 documents that separate behavior. Do not choose by “Slim H3” alone: the two H3 configurations do not share the same plug or bathroom guidance.
