Model comparison
DREO Solaris Slim H3 Standard vs H3 with ALCI
DREO’s two Solaris Slim H3 listings look similar because they share the same compact tower body and basic heating controls. They are not just finish options. The Standard H3 is model DR-HSH003, offered in Gold and Silver; the separately listed H3 (ALCI) is model DR-HSH003A and has its own single U.S. listing. The exact model matters because the ALCI plug and the two manuals create different safety and placement decisions.
Start with the product record, not the color
| Configuration | U.S. model / retail identity | Plug |
|---|---|---|
| Heater Solaris Slim H3 Standard | DR-HSH003; Gold SKU 10-04003-103; Silver SKU 10-040031-001 | Standard polarized plug |
| Heater Solaris Slim H3 (ALCI) | DR-HSH003A; single product SKU 10-04003-126 | ALCI safety plug with Test and Reset controls |
The Standard product page links to the separate H3 ALCI product rather than offering it as a color within the same native product. DREO’s support page lists a U.S. manual for each model. Check the product title, SKU or rating label before using the review or operating instructions.
What the two configurations share
Both manuals describe a 120-volt, 60-hertz PTC fan heater rated to 1,500 watts. Both show H1/H2/H3 heat steps of 1,000, 1,300 and 1,500 watts, ECO temperature control and Fan Only. DREO lists a 41°F-to-95°F thermostat and 70-degree oscillation for each. The U.S. manuals show an oscillation control but do not supply the sweep angle; the angle comes from DREO’s model-specific product listing. Neither manual documents powered vertical sweep, manual vertical tilt, a phone app or a delayed start.
The timer is also easy to misread. It counts down to switch off a heater that is already running; zero cancels it. A separate 24-hour continuous-run shutoff is off by default. It is not a schedule to turn the heater on before you arrive. Both models need a stable, clear indoor floor position, direct wall power, a three-foot front clearance from combustibles and open sides and rear. Neither should be covered or placed on a soft surface.
What changes with ALCI
The DR-HSH003A plug includes an Appliance Leakage Current Interrupter. Its manual explains that the Test button should cut the heater’s power and Reset should restore it. A repeated trip after checking the appliance indicates a possible hazardous condition; the manual directs the user to stop and contact service. It says not to replace or remove the ALCI plug. That feature may be a required electrical filter for some shoppers, but it does not make the heater waterproof.
The page markets the ALCI H3 for bathroom use. Its manual, however, says the product should never be used near water, instructs the user to keep it as far from a bathtub, shower and sink as possible, and gives no distance or bathroom-zone definition. The Standard H3 manual is clearer: it says the heater is not intended for bathrooms or laundry areas. Do not use ALCI alone to satisfy an essential bathroom-use requirement; verify the exact dry placement and applicable electrical guidance.
Small details that change the choice
The Standard H3 is listed at 5.9 by 5.9 by 15.8 inches and 4.63 pounds; the ALCI product page lists 5.91 by 5.91 by 15.75 inches and 4.62 pounds. Treat those as manufacturer dimensions, not a meaningful difference in room coverage. DREO’s Standard page gives inconsistent sound claims—40 dB in a feature bullet and 37.5 dB in its specifications—and its remote-battery specification conflicts with the DR-HSH003 manual. For the ALCI H3, the manual shows two AAA cells. Neither sound figure is an independent measurement.
Choose the Standard DR-HSH003 if its non-ALCI plug meets your dry-room plan and you want a small floor heater with 70-degree side-to-side movement. Choose the DR-HSH003A only if the ALCI plug is an actual requirement; test and reset it as instructed and keep it away from water. If a bathroom, exact noise ceiling or scheduled start is essential, neither configuration should be selected on an undocumented assumption. For a shorter compact tower, compare DREO’s Ceramic Heater 319; for hand-directed vertical aim, check the exact 320 manual instead.
