A useful fit for

A fit for a dry indoor floor position where the 15.75-inch body and 5.91-inch base fit with required clearances, and where the ALCI plug is a genuine requirement. It has three manual-documented heat steps, ECO target control, Fan Only, 70-degree horizontal oscillation and an auto-off countdown.

The main tradeoff

The ALCI plug is a distinct configuration and must be tested/reset as instructed; it reduces shock risk but does not make the heater waterproof. DREO markets bathroom use, while the exact manual says never use near water and provides no permitted zone or distance, so bathroom approval remains unknown. The 0-12-hour timer shuts off an already-running unit and does not provide delayed start. Wattage, noise and coverage claims remain maker statements, not independent measurements.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does this exact H3 configuration include an ALCI safety plug?

Yes. The DR-HSH003A manual cover identifies the ALCI safety plug and explains its Test/Reset procedure. Do not substitute the similar Standard DR-HSH003 model.

Does the ALCI plug prove that every bathroom placement is approved?

No. The exact U.S. manual says never use the heater near water and gives no permitted bathroom zone or distance; the product page's bathroom wording does not make an essential bathroom requirement certain.

Can the ALCI H3 timer turn the heater on later?

No delayed start is documented. The 0-12-hour timer is an auto-off countdown for a heater that is already running.

Will the 15.75-inch body fit under a 16-inch height cap?

DREO lists 15.75 inches high for the ALCI version. This measures the body only and does not replace the required three-foot front clearance or the instruction to keep it away from water.

DREO sells two products under the Solaris Slim H3 name. This assessment is for the separate H3 with ALCI plug: the DREO U.S. page calls it “Heater Solaris Slim H3 (ALCI),” and its single native product record has SKU 10-04003-126. Its U.S. manual cover identifies a PTC Fan Heater with ALCI Safety Plug, Solaris Slim H3A, model DR-HSH003A. The Standard Gold/Silver unit is DR-HSH003 and has a different manual and ordinary plug. Do not treat the ALCI feature as a color choice or transfer the Standard model’s safety instructions to this one.

The meaningful difference is at the plug

The DR-HSH003A manual illustrates the ALCI device at the end of the cord with Test and Reset buttons. Before operation, the instructions say to switch on the heater and press Test; power should cut off. Press Reset to resume normal operation. If the ALCI trips again after checking the cord and appliance, the manual says a hazardous condition may exist and the heater should be returned for service. Do not replace or remove the attachment plug. This is a built-in electrical protection feature, not a waterproof enclosure and not a substitute for the manual’s location limits.

The page describes the model as a bathroom heater, but the exact U.S. manual says the plug only reduces electric-shock risk and the product should never be used near water. It tells users to keep the heater as far from a bathtub, shower and sink as possible, not to splash it, and never to put it where it could fall into water. The manual does not give a distance or define a permitted bathroom zone. I would not treat the ALCI plug alone as proof that a particular bathroom location is approved; a bathroom requirement remains unconfirmed unless the intended dry placement and local electrical rules are verified.

Heating and airflow are familiar, but check the model

The ALCI version is a portable 120-volt, 60-hertz PTC fan heater rated at 1,500 watts. Its manual names H1 at 1,000 watts, H2 at 1,300 watts and H3 at 1,500 watts, plus ECO temperature control from 41°F to 95°F and Fan Only. The product page lists a wider 700-to-1,500-watt range but does not explain that lower figure as one of the manual’s discrete heat steps. Treat the three manual settings as the documented selectable levels rather than assuming a specific low ECO draw.

DREO lists 70-degree oscillation. The manual shows a control for turning oscillation on and off, but does not itself specify the arc or a vertical movement. The body is about 5.91 by 5.91 inches at the base, 15.75 inches tall and 4.62 pounds. This is still a floor heater that needs a stable, clear location, not a tabletop device. A remote is included; the DR-HSH003A manual and package illustration show two AAA batteries.

Its timer ends a session; it does not start one

The manual’s 0-to-12-hour countdown switches off an already-running heater. A separate 24-hour continuous-run shutoff is disabled by default. ECO cycles heat as the room approaches the setpoint, and the fan continues briefly after the unit is switched off to clear residual heat. No app or off-to-on delayed-start schedule is documented. A published 37.5 dB figure is a DREO claim, not an independent measurement; no sound or room-heating test was made for this review.

Where it fits, and where it does not

The DR-HSH003A manual requires indoor household use on a stable, secure surface and at least three feet from combustibles at the front, with combustible objects kept away from the sides and rear. It warns not to use an extension cord or relocatable power tap, not to block openings and not to cover the heater. Keep the unit away from water and do not use it where it might fall into a bathtub or other container. The front becomes very hot. Tip-over and overheat cutoffs do not relax those placement requirements.

For cleaning, switch off, unplug and cool the appliance; wipe the shell with a soft, dry cloth and gently remove dust from the air inlet. Do not use cleaning products, abrasive scrubbers or water on the heater. The manufacturer lists a 12-month limited warranty. As with any 1,500-watt portable heater, a small body does not reduce the need for a suitable wall receptacle or safe clearance.

Who should compare the ALCI H3?

Compare it if you want the exact DR-HSH003A configuration and an ALCI plug is an essential feature for your dry indoor placement. It shares the H3’s small floor footprint, 70-degree oscillation, Fan Only and timed shutoff, but the connection itself is the reason to choose it over the Standard DR-HSH003. If you do not need ALCI protection, the Standard model avoids paying for a different plug arrangement; if ALCI is required, do not substitute the similar-looking Gold or Silver Standard H3.

Do not buy it on the assumption that an ALCI makes it safe beside water. DREO’s page uses bathroom language, while the exact manual warns never to use the heater near water and gives no bathroom-zone distance. If placement near a sink, shower or bath is non-negotiable, ask the manufacturer or a qualified electrician to confirm the exact location rather than treating the plug as permission. For a dry-room compact heater without ALCI, compare the Standard H3 or the shorter Ceramic Heater 319. Neither the published noise number nor the power label is a substitute for a measured real-room result.
