Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you want fan-only airflow and a supervised countdown in a compact floor plan?
The exact TAVH10 listing and guide document a separate Fan Only mode, a 1–12-hour auto-off timer and a 12-inch body height; the current unit was out of stock in the dated snapshot.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an indoor floor heater with an adjustable digital thermostat enough, or must it mount to a wall?
The TAVH10 table lists an adjustable thermistor and floor-size dimensions; its directly linked guide identifies a floor unit, not a wall installation.
Explore this need in the finder →Would a one-to-twelve-hour auto-off countdown solve the need, or is a later start essential?
TAVH10 has a documented 12-hour auto-off timer, but no delayed-start function. Vornado still directs users to attend portable-heater operation.
Explore this need in the finder →The Vornado TAVH10 combines touch controls, a digital display, Auto Climate, fan-only airflow, an included remote and a built-in shutoff countdown. Its current U.S. listing identifies the Black model as SKU EH1-0232-06, while the two linked documents add a “+” to the model name. That exact identity bridge remains unresolved; this assessment sticks to what the listed TAVH10 page and linked documents state.
Its value is in the control routine
The specification table lists two heat stages, High and Low, and 1,500/750 watts. It also identifies 120 volts, 60 Hz, an adjustable thermistor, touch control and an infrared remote. The use guide shows separate High, Low and Fan Only modes; the last moves air without adding heat, not chilled air. That gives the TAVH10 a broader routine than a simple heater that stops at heat alone. If a fan-only setting or remote operation is essential, those features are explicitly listed for this model.
Auto Climate is the more important distinction. Vornado says the TAVH10 adjusts to maintain a balanced room temperature and describes precise fan-speed adjustments; its guide shows an adjustable digital thermostat. The reviewed TAVH10 materials do not specify temperature accuracy, exact element-wattage modulation or a control curve. Vornado describes the separate AVH10 in more detail, but that behavior should not be transferred to this model. Treat Auto Climate as an automatic setpoint feature, not a promise of a particular temperature or energy saving.
A real auto-off countdown, with a safety caveat
The TAVH10 guide documents an auto-off timer adjustable in one-hour steps up to 12 hours. It can be canceled by selecting zero. This is a useful built-in convenience if you want to end a supervised heating session without watching the clock. It is not a delayed-start feature, and it does not authorize unattended or overnight use: Vornado’s current heater guidance says to supervise portable heaters and switch them off when leaving the room or going to sleep. Do not work around that warning with a plug-in timer, smart outlet, extension cord or power strip; the manufacturer says to connect the heater directly to a suitable wall outlet.
The display dims after 20 seconds, and the remote needs line of sight to its receiver. Before replacing its batteries, resolve a manual conflict: the Use & Care guide says two AAA cells, while troubleshooting refers to a CR2025. Check the actual remote or ask Vornado. No phone-app control is documented.
Floor fit, not a tabletop shortcut
The product table gives the body as 11.63 inches deep by 9.25 wide by 12 high, at 5.56 pounds, with a six-foot cord. Those measurements make it a compact floor candidate, but the instructions identify a floor unit. Do not place it on a desk or shelf because the casing looks small. An integrated rear handle helps with carrying; a bottom cord wrap helps when storing it. The pictured product is the exact black listing’s first official gallery image. It is a polished catalog image, and Vornado does not say whether it is a photograph or computer render.
“Whole Room” is the manufacturer’s circulation positioning, not a tested square-foot rating. The sources do not give an independently measured heating rate, room-size limit, noise level, or numeric clearance distances. If you have strict clearance or furniture-fit limits, use the instructions supplied with the exact unit and confirm any missing number with the manufacturer rather than borrowing specifications from another Vornado model.
Safety and upkeep remain part of the choice
The linked TAVH10+ guide describes tip-over protection beyond ten degrees, an airflow-blockage safety cutoff, a cool-touch case claim and a polarized plug. It instructs users to keep airflow clear and use a grounded wall outlet. Vornado’s general heater guidance says not to use its heaters in bathrooms, near water, outdoors or unattended. Keep this unit on a stable level floor, clear of fabric, with its air path open and a person supervising.
For upkeep, unplug before cleaning, vacuum dust from the rear inlets and front outlet grille, and wipe the housing with a soft dry cloth. Stop use if it is damaged or repeatedly shuts down. The five-year warranty is for the original purchaser and subject to the maker’s terms.
Who should shortlist it?
Shortlist the TAVH10 if you want two heat stages plus a separate fan-only mode, a digital temperature control, a remote and a 12-hour auto-off countdown in a movable floor package. It is less suitable if you require a verified Auto Climate algorithm, a documented app, delayed start, a special near-water approval, or permission to run unattended. The VH10 is a simpler manual alternative with High/Low and a mechanical thermostat; it does not document the TAVH10’s fan-only mode or countdown. The AVH10 also offers Auto Climate and fan-only airflow, but its documentation does not show the TAVH10’s built-in 12-hour countdown. Compare those controls against your actual routine rather than the shared “whole room” label.
At the October 24, 2026 snapshot, the listing was out of stock; that does not prove discontinuation. The retail page/native row say TAVH10, while both linked PDF covers say TAVH10+. Vornado does not explain whether the suffix is a document label or a different revision. Confirm the unit’s rating label and supplied guide before relying on configuration-specific details.
