Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would the exact CT22498 Black/Silver tower work as a floor heater with a remote?
The official variant record connects CT22498 to the Black/Silver finish, and its exact manual describes a freestanding tower with remote. Use only in a dry indoor room and preserve the stated clearances.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the CT22498 turn itself off after a chosen interval?
Yes. The exact manual gives a shutoff countdown up to 12 hours, but it does not document a later scheduled start.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the CT22498 remote quiet its selection beeps and dim its display?
Yes. The exact CT22498 manual assigns the remote a Beep Mute function and four display states from full to off. The manual does not label that control Night Mode.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the CT22498 approved for a bathroom or outdoor location?
No. Its exact manual prohibits bathroom, laundry, wet/damp and outdoor use, notwithstanding the presence of tip-over or overheat protection.
Explore this need in the finder →CT22498 is Lasko’s Black/Silver SKU in a current 22-inch ceramic tower listing that also has a Black CT22495 finish. The manufacturer’s native catalog assigns each finish its own SKU and variant-linked image, so color identity is not inferred from a nearby photograph: CT22498 is specifically the Black/Silver unit. Its practical distinction is a remote with a dedicated button-beep mute and four display-brightness choices, alongside three heat levels, Auto Eco, a child lock and a 12-hour shutoff timer.
What the heating controls do
The current manufacturer page lists a 1,500-watt, 120-volt ceramic heater. The exact CT22498 manual identifies High, Medium and Low settings, but it does not give a separate wattage for each. The product page lists an output range of 900 to 1,500 watts without mapping each number to a user setting. If the draw of Medium or Low is a deciding constraint, that missing mapping is worth treating as a real unknown rather than guessing from a sibling model.
Auto Eco gives this tower more than a simple high/low switch. The manual describes a target-temperature routine: High while ambient room temperature is below the set value, then Low as the target is reached, with the heating element switching off after the room exceeds the set value by more than about two degrees Fahrenheit. The fan runs on for roughly 15 seconds after the element turns off. The display reports room temperature in this mode; the source does not provide a thermostat range or independent accuracy test, so it should not be mistaken for a precision room sensor.
The timer is an off-countdown of up to 12 hours. The manual’s sequence uses half-hour steps up to two hours and then hourly steps. It shuts down a running heater; the documentation does not establish a later scheduled start. If you want the unit to turn on before you arrive, this is not the requirement to select.
A quieter interface, not a quieter heater
CT22498’s manual calls out two remote-only controls that can matter in a bedroom. Beep Mute disables the sound made when functions are selected. Display Dimmer offers Full, Medium, Low or Off. Those are convenient interface choices when you adjust the tower from across the room and do not want a bright display. The exact manual does not call this a “Night Mode,” so do not assume CT22498 has the named CT22495 feature. The housing may still produce fan and airflow noise: no independent sound-level result for this model was available, and a silent button tone is not the same thing as silent heat.
The remote is included with two AAA batteries according to both the exact manual and the listing’s accessories. The page describes a three-year limited warranty and no app compatibility. Its control package therefore serves a shopper who wants physical controls and quieter button feedback, but not someone who requires phone access or app scheduling.
Set-up limits matter more than the tower shape
The published body is 21.9 inches high, 7 inches wide and 9 inches deep; Lasko lists a 5.4-pound weight. It is a floor appliance whose base needs a hard, stable, level surface. The manual requires a direct 120V wall outlet, not an extension cord or power strip. It also specifies at least three feet in front and one foot at both sides and rear from combustible materials. Measure that clearance before treating its narrow footprint as a placement advantage.
The manual prohibits wet or damp locations, bathrooms, laundry areas and outdoor use. It says not to leave the heater on unattended. Tip-over protection, thermal-overload shutoff and a child lock are additional controls, not permission to disregard those restrictions. After an overheat shutdown, unplug and allow ten minutes to cool before following the reset steps. For routine cleaning, unplug the unit and vacuum its intake grille with a brush attachment about every two weeks; the documentation does not describe a removable filter.
Choose by the feature you will actually use
CT22498 is the more specific choice if you want to silence the control beeps and choose an exact display brightness from the remote. The Black CT22495 shares the overall 22-inch tower format and core heat/timer controls, but its own manual describes a dedicated Night Mode instead. The Lasko CT22360 is a different trade: it has a removable filter and selectable broad air sweeps, but no auto-off timer and only two heat levels. Those documented differences are more useful than treating the models as interchangeable because they look similar.
Do not choose CT22498 for fan-only air movement, an exact oscillation angle, a stated coverage area, a specific lower-mode wattage, bathroom use or unattended warming: those needs are not established or are ruled out by its manual. “Designed for larger rooms” and “quiet comfort” are manufacturer descriptions rather than independent room-heating or sound tests. This page does not claim personal ownership, measured performance or a test-derived ranking.
