A useful fit for

Consider the CT22495 if you want a narrow 22-inch ceramic tower with three heat levels, a remote, a shutoff countdown and a remote Night Mode for darker bedrooms. Auto Eco manages a target through its own High-to-Low cycle; the base oscillates and the unit remains a light, movable floor heater. It is still a fan-forced heater, not a silent panel or a full-circle sweep model.

The main tradeoff

Its mode wattages below High, temperature-setting range and oscillation angle are not published in the sources checked. Auto Eco is not a timed start, and the 12-hour control only turns a running heater off. The manual excludes bathrooms, wet locations and unattended use and demands 3 feet of front and 1 foot of side/rear clearance plus a direct wall outlet.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Would the CT22495's floor-standing tower and included remote work for the room?

The exact Black CT22495 SKU is a standalone 21.9-inch ceramic tower with an included remote. It requires dry indoor placement on a level floor and the stated clearances.

Can the CT22495 shut itself off after a set period?

Yes. The exact manual documents an auto-off countdown to 12 hours, but not a timer that starts the heater later.

Does the CT22495 give a specific dark-display control from its remote?

Yes. Its exact manual describes Night Mode, which leaves the heat icon lit and turns the other display icons off until a control is touched; it does not certify quiet sleeping or measured acoustic performance.

Is the CT22495 approved for a bathroom or outdoor location?

No. The CT22495 manual excludes bathroom, laundry, damp/wet and outdoor use. Its level floor base does not make it suitable for those locations.

The CT22495 is the Black finish of Lasko’s 22-inch digital ceramic tower family. In the current U.S. collection record, the Black SKU is CT22495 and the separate Black/Silver SKU is CT22498; they have distinct variant IDs and their own manufacturer images. This review is for the Black CT22495 configuration, not a generic heater image or an assumed color name. Its strongest practical combination is a three-level ceramic heater, remote, child lock, 12-hour shutoff timer and a remote-controlled Night Mode in a relatively narrow floor-standing body.

Heat control and timer behavior

Lasko lists 1,500 watts, 120 volts and three heat settings. The CT22495 manual labels those settings High, Medium and Low, but neither the manual nor the product information I could inspect assigns exact wattage to the two lower levels. Do not treat the displayed 3 as three measured outputs. This distinction matters if a lower setting is important for a specific circuit or energy budget: the available documentation verifies that a lower heat choice exists, not how many watts it draws.

The useful automatic behavior is Auto Eco. The manual says the heater uses High while the room is below its selected target, switches to Low when the room reaches that target, and turns the element off after the ambient temperature rises more than about two degrees Fahrenheit above it. The fan continues briefly after the element stops. This is a thermostat’s cycling description, not a measurement of how closely a particular room will hold temperature. The manufacturer does not publish a setpoint range in the materials checked.

The timer is an auto-off countdown, not a delayed start. CT22495 can be set up to 12 hours: the manual provides half-hour increments through two hours, then whole-hour steps. That gives a deliberate way to stop a heater already running; it does not mean you can schedule warmth to begin before you enter a room. If start-time scheduling is essential, look at models whose exact manual explicitly documents it.

Why this exact remote differs

For a bedroom or home office where the display is distracting, CT22495’s remote has a dedicated Night Mode. The manual says the other display icons go dark while the heat icon remains lit; touching a control wakes the display temporarily. The unit also dims its display automatically after a period without input. Night Mode is a display-control feature, not a promise of silent heating. Lasko’s “quiet” wording is a manufacturer description, and I found no independent sound measurement for this exact configuration.

The page and manual list a physical remote with two AAA batteries included. The remote changes heat mode, thermostat setting, oscillation and timer; the manual also cautions against leaving it where it could be pressed unintentionally. Lasko does not list phone-app control. If remote access is your only requirement, that is a clear point of difference from a heater that relies on a phone; if app scheduling matters, CT22495 does not meet it.

Room fit, safety and upkeep

Published body dimensions are 21.9 inches high, 7 inches wide and 9 inches deep, with a listed weight of 5.4 pounds. That slender footprint can be easier to position than a broad console, but it does not erase the operating space the manual requires: keep combustibles at least three feet in front and one foot from the sides and rear. The manual requires a stable, level floor and a direct 120-volt wall receptacle. Do not connect it through an extension cord, power strip or similar cord-connected device.

The exact CT22495 instructions prohibit bathrooms, laundry areas, wet or damp places and outdoor use, and say not to leave the heater operating unattended. Its tip-over switch, thermal-overload protection, child lock and cool-touch housing are useful built-in controls; none changes those restrictions or makes a portable heater childproof. When an overheat cutout trips, the manual directs the owner to unplug the heater and wait ten minutes before resetting it. For maintenance, it says to unplug first and vacuum the intake grilles with a brush attachment about every two weeks. No removable filter is documented.

Who should compare it with another model?

CT22495 makes sense when the timer and the exact Night Mode are more useful than a specialized direction feature. For example, the Lasko CT22360 offers selectable 90-, 170- and 360-degree sweeps and a removable intake filter, but it has two documented heat settings and no countdown timer. CT22495 instead supplies three selectable heat levels, a shutoff countdown and a child lock. Neither heater has published independent room-uniformity, temperature accuracy or sound results here, so “whole room” or “quiet” language should not be read as test data.

Choose another format if you need fan-only circulation, bathroom approval, outdoor use, app control, a scheduled start or overnight unattended operation. In particular, its 12-hour timer is not permission to leave it running unsupervised; follow the manual’s instructions. Also, compare the CT22495’s exact controls with CT22498 before buying: the Black/Silver finish uses its own model manual, which describes remote beep mute and a selectable display dimmer rather than the CT22495 manual’s named Night Mode.
