Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Motion Heat Plus offer both base sweep and moving outlet louvers?
Yes. The exact manual provides separate base-oscillation and louver-oscillation controls, while the current page describes powered vertical louvers and widespread oscillation. The manufacturer does not publish a numeric sweep angle or an independently tested room-coverage result.
Explore this need in the finder →Can its console body fit under a 24-inch height cap?
Lasko lists a 22.58-inch body height, so it is below a 24-inch body limit. A short cabinet does not reduce the manual's three-foot front and one-foot side/rear combustible clearances.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it move air with heat off and provide three heat levels?
The exact manual lists H1, H2 and H3 plus a separate fan-only mode. It does not publish a wattage map for the three heat levels or several separate fan-only speeds.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the included remote support an eight-hour shutoff countdown?
Yes. The manual documents a remote and auto-off timer up to eight hours. The manual separately says not to leave the heater operating unattended.
Explore this need in the finder →Would this heater fit a bathroom or wet-room requirement?
No. The exact instructions exclude bathrooms, laundry areas and wet or damp locations; an indoor plan must be a dry residential floor location.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the eight-hour timer suitable for an unattended overnight routine?
No. The manual says the heater should not be left operating unattended. Its countdown is an automatic shutoff feature, not permission to leave it running by itself.
Explore this need in the finder →The Lasko Motion Heat Plus CC23161 is a black, 23-inch ceramic console heater with three heat levels, a separate fan-only setting, Auto Eco temperature control, a remote and two kinds of powered movement. Its most distinctive feature is that the base can oscillate while the outlet louvers move separately. That makes it a more flexible airflow layout than a fixed-front console, but it does not make it a tested whole-room heater or remove the clearance and supervision limits in its manual.
Check the cabinet and the required open space separately
Lasko identifies this configuration as model CC23161, with one Black color/SKU in the saved U.S. collection snapshot. The live product page lists a 22.58-inch body height, 10.77-inch width and 7.59-inch depth. Those are useful storage and placement measurements, not the heater's safe operating footprint. Its exact instructions call for a stable, flat, level floor and at least three feet of front clearance and one foot at each side and the rear from combustible material. Air inlets and outlets must remain open. A low cabinet may tuck beside furniture when switched off, yet still need a broad clear area before it can be run safely.
The manufacturer lists 120 V and an overall 750-to-1,500-watt output range. The manual identifies High, Medium and Low but does not assign a wattage to each step, so a request for a particular low, medium or high wattage cannot be verified. Lasko also advertises up to 200 square feet of coverage. That is the maker's claim, not a room-by-room heating test; the page does not give conditions that would establish how quickly or evenly this unit warms a particular space. The listed 44/48 dBA figures likewise have no stated measurement method here, so they should not be treated as an independent noise test.
Two movements, three heat choices and a separate fan mode
The CC23161 is built around more than a fixed front grille. The exact manual shows one control for base oscillation and a second for louver oscillation; Lasko describes the louvers as powered and vertical. In use, that means the base can sweep and the outlet can change its direction rather than aiming every burst from the same position. The documentation does not publish a swing angle, so a specific degree of coverage should not be inferred. “Four-way circulation” is the maker's description, not evidence that every corner will receive equal heat.
H1, H2 and H3 are the three heat modes. There is also a distinct fan-only mode for moving room air without turning on the heating element. This is useful when air movement matters independently of heat, but it does not cool the room like an air conditioner. The manual's Auto Eco routine adjusts heat around a selected room-temperature setting: below the target it calls for High; at the target it uses Low; and above the target the element shuts off, with the fan continuing briefly. The displayed value is room temperature rather than the temperature of the outlet air. The manual does not provide a thermostat accuracy test or assign individual watts to H1/H2/H3.
A physical remote is included, and the exact instructions list two AAA batteries as included. The timer is an automatic shutoff countdown that reaches eight hours; it is not a scheduled start. App compatibility is listed as absent. Lasko also lists no named Night Mode. If an app, a later start or a numeric movement range is essential, this model does not meet that need based on the available documentation.
Use it only within the manual's supervised indoor plan
The manual describes supplemental residential heat, not outdoor, commercial, agricultural or hazardous-area use. It excludes bathrooms, laundry rooms and other wet or damp places, and warns against locating the heater where it might fall into a tub or other water container. Plug it directly into a 120-volt wall receptacle. Lasko says not to use an extension cord, power strip, surge protector, multi-outlet adapter or cord reel, and not to share the outlet or circuit with other devices. Keep the cord uncovered, out of traffic and away from the heater's hot surfaces. The manual also says the heater should not be left operating unattended.
The built-in tip-over switch and thermal-overload protector are useful safeguards, not substitutes for clearances or supervision. If an overheat shutdown occurs, the instructions say to unplug the heater, let it cool for ten minutes and then reconnect it before restarting. For routine care, remove the front filter cover and vacuum the intake grilles every two weeks; unplug before cleaning or moving and do not disassemble it. Lasko's manual lists a three-year limited warranty for the original purchaser under its terms.
Who should choose it—and when another console fits better
Shortlist the CC23161 when you want a standing ceramic console with an included remote, a true fan-only setting, three heat levels and independently controlled base/louver movement, and you can reserve the manual's clearance envelope in a dry, supervised room. It is not the right choice for a tight bedside gap merely because the body is relatively narrow. The weight is also unsettled: Lasko's current product page and native variant record disagree, and the manual does not resolve it, so do not choose this one on a claimed carry weight.
Compare the low-profile CL22100 if a horizontal baseboard-like body and a longer, 12-hour shutoff countdown matter more than the CC23161's fan-only and two-axis movement; that model's manual and feature set are different. The taller CC20125 is another option when a narrow console with three heat modes, remote and a 12-hour countdown is preferred, but its documented reviewed configuration has no separate fan-only mode or powered oscillation. None of those distinctions proves which heater warms a room faster. Match the exact model to the real outlet and clearances, and treat every timer as a convenience rather than permission for unattended operation.
