Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Will this 13.5-inch body fit a 14-inch limit while still meeting its clearances?
The published body height is 13.5 inches, which fits a 14-inch body cap but not 13 inches. Measure the required safety envelope separately: three feet in front and one foot at the sides and rear.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I aim the outlet manually up or down?
Yes. The exact CC13700 manual describes a hand-sliding front louver that adjusts vertical airflow. The manual provides no degree range, and this is not powered vertical oscillation.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the timer turn the heater off, or start it later?
The exact manual documents a 1–8-hour elapsed off countdown, not a scheduled start. An essential later-start requirement should reject it.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an included remote or phone app part of this exact model?
No. The current exact U.S. listing says no remote and no app compatibility. Use the on-unit digital touch controls or choose a model with a documented remote if that is essential.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the CC13700 be used in a bathroom or left running unattended?
No. Its model manual excludes bathroom, laundry and wet/damp locations and says not to leave it operating unattended.
Explore this need in the finder →The Lasko CC13700 is a short, wide ceramic console heater with a documented eight-hour shutoff timer and a manually adjustable vertical louver. It suits a dry indoor floor spot where you can point warm airflow upward or downward and can live without an included remote, side-to-side movement or app control. Its low profile is not permission to push it close to furniture: the manual still calls for three feet in front and one foot on the sides and rear.
Compact height, console-shaped footprint
Lasko’s current U.S. page identifies a single Black model CC13700. The title rounds it to 13 inches, but the specification table lists a 13.5-inch body height, 10.5-inch width and 6-inch depth; use those published dimensions when checking a shelf or floor alcove. It weighs 4.65 pounds and has a carry handle, so moving it between permitted indoor rooms is more plausible than treating it as a fixed wall unit. Its broad face takes more width than the 16-inch CT16450/CT16451 tower, even though this console is shorter.
The manufacturer describes a fan-forced ceramic element, 120-volt operation and 900-to-1,500-watt output. The exact manual confirms High at 1,500 watts and a separate Low setting but does not state Low’s wattage. Lasko also lists a maximum 200-square-foot area. That is a maker claim, not an independent room-heating measurement; we do not have controlled temperature, warm-up, airflow or sound results for the CC13700.
A useful timer, but not remote control
The four-page Lasko manual is labeled model CC13700, Rev. A 6/17, and the current page links it as Use & Care. It describes two heat settings, a digital touch-control display and a thermostat that automatically cycles only while High heat is selected. Its countdown runs from one to eight hours and turns the heater off when time expires. It does not schedule a later start. If you specifically need to turn heat on before arriving, an eight-hour shutoff countdown is the wrong function.
The exact listing says no remote; it also says no app compatibility and no oscillation. Those are meaningful omissions if you want to change settings from bed or sweep airflow around the room. The manual’s front louver adjusts the vertical direction of the outlet by hand; that is not powered up/down motion and not side-to-side oscillation. A requirement for an explicit angle or two-axis sweep should therefore exclude it. Instead, the CC13700’s distinguishing convenience is a known auto-off timer on a smaller console body.
Placement and filter care are part of the operating plan
Use a stable, level surface, connect directly to a 120-volt wall receptacle, and do not use an extension cord, power strip or similar cord-connected device. The exact manual keeps combustibles at least three feet in front and one foot from either side and the rear. It excludes bathrooms, laundry areas, wet or damp locations and outdoor use, and says not to leave the heater operating unattended. Keep the intake and outlet clear, route the cord away from foot traffic, and unplug before moving or servicing. The manual also warns that the unit’s feet may leave marks on some furniture or wood floors, so a stable surface still deserves a finish check.
Unlike the simple vented face of a basic compact heater, CC13700 includes a permanent, vacuum-cleanable filter. Lasko directs owners to release its cover and vacuum the filter with a brush every two weeks. Unplug first; do not remove the heater housing or substitute liquid cleaners. Overheat protection is documented, but a tip-over switch and child lock are not established in the exact manual, so do not rely on either as a reason to relax supervision or placement.
Who should choose it—and what changes with your answers
Choose the CC13700 when a low 13.5-inch body, manual vertical airflow adjustment, thermostat and a documented one-to-eight-hour off timer all fit your routine. In the finder, it can meet an indoor floor-portable request, a 14-inch height cap, a manual-tilt requirement and an essential countdown requirement together. It fails a 13-inch body limit, a bathroom or outdoor requirement, a scheduled-start request, or an essential remote, app, fan-only, horizontal oscillation or numeric sweep-angle need.
Compare it with the Lasko CT16450/CT16451 family if side-to-side oscillation and an even shorter width matter more than a settled timer specification: that family’s current listing and two manufacturer manuals conflict on timer and remote revisions, so those features remain unconfirmed there. The taller CT22360 offers a remote and selectable 90-, 170- or 360-degree sweep, but its page and manual do not document an auto-off timer. These differences describe paperwork, controls, dimensions and setup—not which heater warms a room faster. Measure the full clearance envelope, decide whether a timer or remote is essential, and verify the exact manual included with the heater before buying.
