A useful fit for

For a dry indoor room where a secure wall installation is appropriate and an ALCI plug, separate Fan Only mode, and app schedule are useful.

The main tradeoff

Wall installation is required. The exact manual warns against use near water despite the product page's bathroom-safety marketing, so it is not recommended for a bathroom or wet location. The local 0-24-hour timer turns off a running heater; the app schedule is separate. Manual angle labels do not specify the motion axis; full dimensions and the remaining installation envelope are not established here.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is a plug-mounted ALCI test/reset device essential, rather than an assumed bathroom-safety approval?

The matching DR-HSH009AS manual documents an ALCI TEST/RESET device on the cord. It also warns never to use the heater near water; ALCI is not permission to use it in a bathroom.

Must the exact manual allow bathroom use?

No. The matching manual says never to use this product near water and warns about bathtubs, showers, and sinks. Treat bathroom use as not permitted; the ALCI does not override that warning.

Do you need wall installation and a separate fan-only mode?

Yes. The exact model manual requires wall mounting and separately lists Fan Only. It is not a floor-portable or fanless-convection heater.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you need a planned app schedule as distinct from a local auto-off timer?

The manual describes an app schedule and a separate 0-24-hour timer that turns off an already-running heater. Do not treat the local countdown as an off-to-on delayed start.

Do the angle labels prove a minimum horizontal swing arc?

No. The page lists 60, 90, and 120 degree settings, but the control description does not identify their axis. A required documented horizontal swing angle remains unknown.

The DREO Wall-mounted Heater 739AS is a fixed, app-connected fan heater with an ALCI device on its power cord. Its single US collection variant is SKU 10-04009-114; the matching manual identifies DR-HSH009AS and its app setup names WH739S. The similar 719S is a distinct, non-ALCI model.

Decide first whether fixed wall mounting works

This is not a portable heater that happens to have a wall bracket. The manual says it must be mounted before use and not propped against an object; package diagrams show a drilling guide and wall anchors. It suits a fixed location, not a renter who cannot drill, someone moving heat between rooms, or anyone wanting to put the unit away. Match the mounting method to the actual wall material; included anchors do not prove every wall is suitable.

Do not infer the installation envelope from a product photo. The reviewed manual does not give complete body dimensions or a full wall-clearance schedule, and the image is a studio rendering, not a measured drawing. DREO lists a 70.8-inch cord, but you still need to check the outlet location. The manual calls for combustibles to be at least three feet in front and away from the sides and rear. For a tight wall bay, nearby shelf, or furniture edge, obtain the current installation drawing before buying.

The ALCI is a feature, not permission to heat a bathroom

The standout difference from the 719S is the plug-mounted ALCI test/reset device. The manual describes pressing its TEST button while the heater is on, then using RESET to restore operation; it also says not to use the ALCI as an on/off switch and not to replace or remove the protected plug. This is useful information about the electrical safety feature, but it is not an immersion guard, water-resistant enclosure, or general license to put the heater near splashes.

There is a serious conflict in the maker’s own presentation: the product page markets “bathroom safety” and suggests added safety for bathroom use, while the ALCI warning in the matching manual says the product should never be used near water. The manual also warns against places where it could fall into water and identifies baths, showers, and sinks as hazards. The responsible interpretation is to follow the stricter model-specific safety instructions: do not choose the 739AS for a bathroom or another wet location. If bathroom placement is essential, ask DREO to reconcile the precise current manual and product-page claim in writing before considering it; an ALCI plug alone is not proof of approval.

Heat, airflow, and control choices

The manual rates the heater at 1,500 watts on 120 volts and 60 hertz. Its Power Heat mode offers three steps—900, 1,300, and 1,500 watts—and ECO lets you set a temperature from 41°F to 95°F. Fan Only is a separate operating mode, so the unit can circulate air without energizing the heating element. That is different from a fanless convection panel such as DREO’s wall-mounted 711S. The documents do not establish how evenly this will warm any particular room, nor do the maker’s “wide” or “even” warmth descriptions amount to an independent room test. Treat it as supplemental room heat and keep expectations grounded in the layout, insulation, and safe placement of your own room.

The control panel and remote can select fan-angle settings labeled 60°, 90°, and 120°, along with oscillation. The product page calls these adjustable oscillation angles, but the manual’s control description does not name the axis. Do not assume that these numbers guarantee a horizontal sweep or vertical movement. The manual warns that moving the outlet fin by hand can cause a malfunction and fire risk; use its controls, not your fingers, to change the outlet setting. If a documented side-to-side arc or two-axis sweep is a must-have, this model’s manual does not establish that need.

The local 0–24-hour timer is an auto-off countdown for a heater that is already running. The manual separately describes an app schedule. These are different functions: the schedule is the reason to select the 739AS if you want planned heating times, not the button timer. Voice assistants require a DREO account. The included remote uses a CR2025 3-volt battery.

Who should consider it—and what should make you pause?

Consider the 739AS if you want a permanently wall-mounted fan heater, value an ALCI plug with test/reset controls, need separate Fan Only operation, and can use an app schedule in a dry indoor location. Pause if you cannot securely install a wall appliance, need full verified dimensions before you make a fit decision, require a known horizontal sweep angle, or plan to use heat near water. The bathroom claim deserves particular scrutiny; the manual is the safer authority for how and where to operate the appliance.

If you do not need the ALCI feature, the standard 719S shares the wall-mounted fan-heater role and likewise has heat settings, Fan Only, app controls, and an angle-setting control, but it is a different model and its instructions also do not make it a wet-area heater. If you need a portable floor unit instead, compare a documented floor heater. If you want a wall-mounted heater without fan-forced heat, examine a convection panel such as the 711S. In every case, match the exact model number on the package with the manual before installation.

This assessment uses DREO’s product listing and the DREO-branded DR-HSH009AS manual copy archived from a non-DREO host; the manual identity is also reinforced by its WH739S app pairing label. It is a document-based review, not hands-on testing. Manufacturer sound, efficiency, outlet-correction, and room-coverage language is not presented as independently measured performance. Consult the DREO Wall-mounted Heater 739AS listing and the DR-HSH009AS user-manual copy, and follow the instructions supplied with the exact unit you receive.
