Comparison
Vornado VH202 vs. VC-01 vs. VH240
Vornado's VH202, VC-01 and VH240 can all be considered for a small indoor heating routine, but they solve different jobs. The VH202 is a low-input personal heater with a fan-only position. The VC-01 combines two heat modes with personal/whole-room operation and manual aiming. The VH240 is a hands-on floor heater with three heat positions and a mechanical thermostat, but its specifications list no separate fan setting. Start with the action you need every day, not the shared Vornado name or broad “circulation” language.
VH202: modest input and fan-only air
For a compact desk or tabletop position, the VH202 gives Low and High heat plus Fan Only. Vornado's heater FAQ specifies 375 W low and 750 W high for this model. The U.S. native listing identifies Black SKU EH1-0227-06, although Vornado marks that variant unavailable in its saved catalog snapshot. A fan-only selector helps when you want air movement without heat; it does not cool a room. This unit has no thermostat, timer, remote, oscillation or documented fan-speed choices. The product page calls out less-than-eight-inch dimensions in every direction, but not an axis-labeled dimension or safe clearance diagram. For a desk user who wants a lower maximum input and a simple switch, its limitations may be acceptable.
VC-01: more modes and movement
The VC-01 is a larger-control choice rather than a more compact version of the VH202. Its exact product page and directly linked guides document Personal and Whole Room modes, Low and High within each, a separate Fan Only position, a 15-degree manual tilt, and a two-, four- or eight-hour shutoff countdown. The product table lists a 1,500 W maximum. Those choices matter when you need to aim the outlet manually or want a defined auto-off setting; they do not promise room coverage or allow you to leave a portable heater unattended. Its support documents use the label VC-01+, while its listing is VC-01, so read the individual assessment for that suffix bridge and the exact SKU.
VH240: thermostat and three heat positions
Choose the VH240 for a different control style: its listing and linked instructions show Low, Medium and High plus a separate mechanical thermostat dial. Its table lists a 1,500 W maximum and a 10.71-inch body height. Unlike the VH202 or VC-01, it does not document fan-only air. It also has no listed remote or countdown timer. The dial is not a digital temperature display or an exact calibrated setpoint. As with the VC-01, the manufacturer's documents use a VH240+ label where the retail listing says VH240; see the product review for exact finishes and the open naming question.
Let one requirement change the shortlist
For personal heat under a 750 W cap with fan-only operation, the VH202 is the most direct match of these three. If fan-only matters but you also want manual angle adjustment or a countdown, compare the VC-01 and accept its higher listed maximum. If your priority is manually selected Low/Medium/High plus thermostat cycling rather than fan-only airflow, the VH240 offers that combination. Requiring all three sets of controls at once would mix separate designs rather than describe one of these products.
None of these models is a choice for unattended heating. Vornado's current heater guidance calls for attended, short-term use, direct connection to a sound wall outlet, and no extension cord, power strip, timer or smart plug. Bathroom and other wet-location use is not supported by the reviewed manufacturer guidance. A countdown on the VC-01 is an auto-off function, not approval for overnight or empty-room operation. Follow each exact guide for airflow, cleaning, reset and placement; body-size figures do not replace operating clearances.
